Q: I suddenly have something to go to nearby, can I contact you on the day and see the shop?
A: We produce at our workshop on weekdays and every other Saturday, so it is almost possible to visit our shop on the same day. Please call us. However, if the representative is not available due to delivery or a meeting, our staff will guide you. It will go smoothly if you call us before coming to the store.
Q: Where is the nearest station? Please tell me how to get there by public transportation. A: JR / Keihan / Subway / Rokujizo Station. Rokujizo Station is an 11-minute rapid train ride from JR Kyoto Station. There is no bus from Rokujizo Station to Sumiyama. Please take a taxi. 5.5km 13 minutes to Asakura Mokko (approx. 2,000 yen to 2,600 yen) ●On some days, we may be able to drop you off at the station on your way home. Please inquire at the time of reservation. Taxi information below ●There is a taxi waiting rotary right in front of Rokujizo Station on the JR/Subway Tozai Line. ●There is also a taxi rotary at "Keihan Rokujizo Station" (5 minutes walk from JR Rokujizo Station). 6.1km 17 minutes. Q: Is there a place to eat nearby? A: There are several shops to which Kyoto Sumiya Asakura Mokko's furniture has been delivered. We will introduce 5 nearby properties. Please come and visit us. (Only stores close to "Delivery to stores" are excerpted here) ・2 minutes by car "Kigyusha Cafe & Lunch" Renovated Kigyusha. Delivered some of Asakura Mokko's wipe lacquer corner cut trays. Closed on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays (irregular holidays). 20 seats. 5 parking spaces available. ・13 minutes by car "Curry Design Office" Old house renovation. Delivered Asakura Mokko's elephant stool. Reservations for lunch are guaranteed. Closed on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Sundays. 20 seats. 4 parking spaces available. ・16 minutes by car "LovA Uji" Old folk house, seasonal cuisine and tempura. Delivered a table with central legs carved from keyaki wood. 28 seats available. Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. 2 parking spaces available. ・36 minutes by car. Delivered a large Bubinga table with a shaved top and O-chair leather seats for the table seats to a private kaiseki room at Nanzenji Junsho (Tofu). Q: Are there any recommended detour spots for everyone to stop by? A: Yes. In addition to tourist attractions, the area is home to many popular bakeries and pottery workshops. Daigoji Temple in Kyoto, Horyuji Temple in Nara, and Rurikoji Temple in Yamaguchi Prefecture are said to be ``Japan's Three Great Pagodas.'' (Supplementary note) There are nine five-storied pagodas designated as national treasures in Japan. Of these, the five-storied pagodas that were built more than 1,000 years ago and still exist are: Daigo-ji Temple in Kyoto City, Horyu-ji Five-storied Pagoda in Nara Prefecture (built in the Asuka period 1,400 years ago, then rebuilt after disappearing around 1,300 years ago), and Nara Prefecture. The five-storied pagoda of Muroji Temple (built 1220 years ago during the Heian period) (rebuilt after being damaged by a typhoon in 1998) (Existing or rebuilt, either way it's an amazing woodworking time machine.)
