 "After much searching for a chair to last us as a couple, not a final resting place, we decided to have the woodworker Asakura make it for us. We will be using this chair for another 25 years at most. We wanted the remaining chairs from Kyoto Sumiyama Asakura Woodworking to be passed down to our three children, so we ordered three chairs made from different materials.  Itaya Kobo came to know Asakura Mokko by chance when the coal mine was located there more than 10 years ago. At the time, Itaya Kobo's office and workshop were a little far apart, but on May 21, 2021, they renovated the old ironworks. By integrating the office and workshop, and taking advantage of the location close to Uji Station, they hold a number of collaborative events with local cake shops, florists, and agricultural producers, such as "Itaya Market" and "Ujimoto Marche."
