I will introduce the rough process.
Column Please take a look when you have time.
1
tree growth
The story begins more than 100 years ago when the trees sprout and the rich environment of light, wind, water and soil nurtures the trees.
If there are knots in the furniture, it is proof that the tree once stretched its branches and tried to gather the light of the sun.
Wood grain pattern = The way of life of wood.
2
Cut logs from the forest to make logs
Wood is a material that takes a very long process to become a product and takes time and effort. The "timber" at the stage of furniture use has a moisture content of about 10%, but when standing on a mountain, it is a heavy tree with plenty of moisture. A big job to cut it down on the slope and carry it. Creating a mountain road to carry it for a long time is also a big job. Long lumber takes that much time and effort.
3
Saw lumber Make into boards or squares and dry
Lumber is made by anticipating the invisible contents of the lumber. The value of the material changes depending on the direction of splitting. Lumber for furniture is lumbered according to the thickness to be used and dried for several years until the moisture content reaches about 10%. At Asakura Mokko, we purchase chestnut logs and dry them naturally next to our workshop. For a wide variety of lumber that we receive orders for, we work with reliable lumber dealers to find the lumber that the client desires.
Four
meeting·Design/estimate
Our furniture has a long life.
In the case of custom-made furniture, it is common for conflicting requests such as "I want it to be small but I want to have a lot of storage space" when I first ask about it. Based on your request and the nature of the wood, we organize your priorities and budget and propose a design together.

Five
Arakidori
Decide which part of which material to use. It is the most important process that affects the degree of perfection.
This is because it is a characteristic of wood that it is not possible to make a large surface again by collecting the leftovers that have been removed from the mold like cookie dough.
Conversely, one of the characteristics of wood is that no two wood grains are ever the same.
seasoning
It is slightly larger and left for a while after sawing to bring out the madness. This process is essential to improve machining accuracy.
6
Once the movement of the material has stabilized, level the surface to the actual processing dimensions and determine the thickness.
7
processing
Tenon setCreate unevenness etc. It takes time to hide the part, but the strength will change after a few years.
8
Forming/Chamfering
Molded to flow beautifully from any angle. The impression changes greatly by taking the face further. It may be similar to makeup and fashion.
9
finish
It is finished with a knife such as a planer. Since the fibers of the wood are not disturbed, a sense of transparency is obtained. It is also thanks to the uninterrupted craftsmanship that creates the finished cutlery.
Ten
11
assembly
The most stressful work. Race against time. Final adjustment.
12
Painting
Infused with vegetable oil. Since the surface is not blocked by the paint film, it does not interfere with the humidity control function of the wood.
13
Preparation/Delivery
Final check such as leveling of chair legs and sticking to the bottom of the legs. We will deliver as soon as possible.
14
nurture
The best care is to use it. The more you use it, the better it gets.
Chairs and boxes do not require oil maintenance. The friction of "sitting and touching every day" gives it a glossy and presence.
Only the table to be wiped with water is painted with oil once a year.

Connect
I would be more than happy if the wooden furniture I made was used for a longer time than the tree grew, and that the children of the next generation, the next generation, would be interested in wood products, forests, and the environment. "Creating wooden furniture that delivers the quiet and strong energy of wood" to your casual daily life.
It was the wooden objects made by our predecessors that taught us, as creators, the charm of wooden objects.
