■After finishing by hand planing, it is soaked in oil, mainly linseed oil.

 

・It feels good on the skin because it touches the wood directly → The coefficient of friction of the planed wood surface is close to that of human skin.

 

・Does not hinder the breathing of the tree → During the rainy season, it has a humidity control effect by absorbing indoor moisture.

 

・Easy to maintain and can be used for a long time for the above reasons..

 

 

■Although it has sufficient water repellency, there are two things to keep in mind as it is not covered with a coating like urethane.

 

Moisture---------Basically wipe dry. It will grow as shiny as the floor of a temple.

In the case of a table, wipe water because it is a place to eat. In that case

Please wipe with a tightly wrung out cloth. (Microfiber is not good)

Use coasters for glasses containing ice that may condense.

 

Iron -------I don't think you would put a hot pot directly on it, but if you put an iron kettle etc. directly on it,

The tannins in the tree and the iron may react and become black.

After that------The first maintenance will remove most of the surface fuzz, so you don't have to do it every year.

If you prefer moisture and want to increase water repellency, use oil once a year.

If you prefer a matte texture, you can just apply oil once every few years..

■For dents and scratches, moisten a small tissue with water and place it on the dent, and leave it there for 30 minutes, and the area will heal considerably.(Note: Do not use this method on colored furniture or furniture with rough textures. Water bleed marks may stain.)
